Makayla Gorman joined Brown Law & Mediation, APC in 2023 as a paralegal and later also became the firm’s office manager.  She is currently enrolled as a law student at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she received a substantial academic scholarship and has proven to be an extremely bright and formidable young legal mind.  Prior to joining Brown Law & Mediation, APC, Ms. Gorman gained invaluable family law experience providing legal aid to low-income individuals with the Inland Empire Latino Lawyer’s Association (IELLA).  She now couples this experience with the skills and expertise she is acquiring during law school to provide even better service to the firm’s clients.

Before law school Ms. Gorman obtained her B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 5% of her class and was a proud member of the coveted Tau Sigma National Honor Society. Her previous academic excellence also landed her membership in Phi Betta Kappa Honor Society.

Always dedicated to the service of others, Ms. Gorman served as external vice president of Ignite UCLA during undergrad, revitalizing the club’s presence and membership on campus after the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and spearheading multiple successful policy reform initiatives, including one that resulted in the current campus policy requiring student access to free menstrual products in all UCLA restrooms, and taking the foundational steps towards enacting legislation that would assure on-campus access to rape kits for student victims of sexual crimes.  Ms. Gorman now dedicates her exceptional passion and skills to assisting each and every client she works with at Brown Law & Mediation, APC.

In her leisure time, Ms. Gorman enjoys playing softball, watching movies, and spending time with family.
